Mission, Outreach, & Ministries

We strive to be disciples who are used by God as His hands and feet of Christ. We believe that expressing and experience a Christ-like love by working with & caring for our community.

Some Things We Are Involved With:

Food Pantry  Our congregation hosts the only food pantry in Childersburg. Donations come from other congregations, schools, and the Postal service.  We are able to help about two dozen families each month with a gift of non-perishable food items.

Service Projects  We serve in our local community by gathering to do projects with local homeowners such as painting, weatherization, and yard work. Youth and adults work together in these summer projects. We also join with Churches for Childersburg in serving our community.

Alabama Childhood Food Solutions  Volunteers serve on food distribution days monthly and our special project is collecting egg cartons for distribution of fresh eggs to families.

Eyes Wide Open Ministries

Eyes Wide Open is focused on training and equipping leaders and pastors to lead their communities and churches in the rural, mountainous regions of Chiquimula and the surrounding areas. The take large bags of food into underserved communities and visit the regional hospital regularly to share the Gospel and tend to individuals needs.

The Cookie Crew is quickly becoming on our most popular ministries in Childersburg. Each Year we bake or buy several thousand cookies and deliver them to the Police, the Fire and Rescue, and teachers at all our schools. But not only do they just deliver cookies, they pray for all the people who will partake of the sweet goodness before them.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.

Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.  It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory.  26 years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with 43 people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Celebrate Recovery has helped more than 21,000 people at Saddleback, attracting over 70% of its members from outside the church. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church and nearly half serve as church volunteers.

Celebrate Recovery is now in over 30,000 churches worldwide!
